About
My passion for storytelling has spirited me from the frosty Great White North of Toronto to the sun-drenched beaches of LA, where I risk igniting my alabaster skin in a burst of flames, but how those sparkling SoCal sunsets on the ocean are so worth it. This passion has connected me with exceptional and driven individuals, inspiring me to hone, refine, and evolve my craft. My love for storytelling has found expression through a kaleidoscope of mediums, from painting a pretty picture through the camera’s lens to the precision of pacing and perspective in editing, from the visionary scope of directing to the imaginative realm of writing. And it all derives from my desire to produce work that engages, captivates, and entertains. I’m eager to bring my passion, expertise, and dedication to the next project. Let’s make magic happen!
What’s in a name?
Okay, so is it Keven with an “e”? Or Kevin with an “i”? What’s the deal with my name!?
This is a question I’ve wrestled with my whole life, and I’ll do my best to explain without taking up too much of your time. Short answer: either one works, and both are technically correct—at least in my eyes.
But for the curious minds, here’s the deal: I happen to be one of those people who’ve always struggled with spelling, starting way back when I was a kid. Picture me, crayon in hand, confidently scribbling KEVEN on every school project I deemed worthy of claiming. Even though the authorities (my parents) spelled it the traditional way—Kevin—but for me, and evidently, the authorities, it was a sign of my creativity and, as a Libra, my sense of balance. So, they went with it, and Keven became my thing.
As I got older, Keven stuck with me, becoming my identity. But then, adulthood happened. The world of official documents and bureaucrats saw me as Kevin. And suddenly, I had two versions of myself: the official Kevin on paper next to a number and the real Keven, the artist Keven. Thus (in my opinion) was born the smallest identity crisis ever—E over I. Or perhaps you could say the Ego over the Id.
I hope that clears things up and gives you a glimpse into the folklore of Keven Albers!
