Editor, Writer, and Director in Los Angeles. Current wizard of conjuring content for coin, mead, and love of the arts.

The obligatory director's hand gesture of directing, picture. That’s me pointing.

Intro

My passion for compelling storytelling has spirited me from the frosty Great White North (Toronto) to the sun-drenched beaches of LA, where I risk igniting my alabaster skin in a burst of flames, but how those sparkling SoCal sunsets dancing across the ocean are so worth it. This passion has connected me with exceptional and driven individuals, inspiring me to hone, refine and evolve my craft. My love for storytelling has found expression through a kaleidoscope of mediums, from painting a pretty picture through the camera’s lens to the precision of pacing and perspective in editing, from the visionary scope of directing to the imaginative realm of writing. And it all derives from my desire to produce work that engages, captivates, and entertains. I’m eager to bring my passion, expertise, and dedication to the next project. Let’s make magic happen!

Work

Three foundational pillars define my professional strengths: integrity, versatility, and honesty. I honestly care about my work, aiming to create the best product possible, not just for a paycheck. Yes, money is great, but I don't simply work to live—I work to work. As a versatile artist, I can not only conceptualize a vision but also execute it on multiple levels. The moniker of 'one-man-band' suits me, as many choose to collaborate with me not only for my wit and charm or humble brags, but because I bring a wealth of skills to the table. Integrity is paramount in my work. Pride in what I do compels me to maintain high standards, solve problems effectively, and always go the extra mile. Despite what some may assume about pride, for me, it's less about ego and more about striving for excellence in my work. These core strengths drive my pursuit of growth, my curiosity to learn new technologies and techniques, and my willingness to transcend beyond myself for the project's greater good.

Magical Mastery of Software Wizardry

Organization Skills:
As a content producer, it is essential for me to be well-organized when it comes to managing tasks, meeting deadlines, and scheduling, especially in filming productions.
People Skills:
As a content producer, I work with several types of people ranging from writers, actors, marketing teams, etc., so not only do I possess good communication but interpersonal skills as well. Being able to work collaboratively as well as develop lasting professional relationships.
Leadership Skills:
I’ve led and directed teams and actors toward meeting overarching goals and objectives. This meant tapping into my organization, decisive decision-making, and effective communication skills to ensure all parties are on board and aligned with the plan.
Creative Thinking:
Content creators must continuously think outside of the box, develop fresh ideas, and create engaging content. But also be a problem-solver. Nothing goes right 100% of the time. If we’re lucky, things go right 25% of the time, so I’ve demonstrated my creative thinking time and time again through problem-solving.
Project Management:
Alongside leadership and organizational skills, having the ability to manage projects is a vital skill. For me, this means developing a strategic approach to projects, creating timelines, prioritizing tasks, and allocating resources (everyone has budgets no matter how big or small it seems to be never enough) to meet the set goals.
Editing Skills:
As an editor, I also have knowledge of post-sound, VFX and compositing, and motion graphics. It’s been my bread and butter for the better part of my career.
Videography & Photography:
From interviews, narratives, and presentations, to products, I’ve filmed and photographed plenty of these past ten years. As a single camera shooter this means I've delt with lighting and sound recording to get the best picture and sound possible.
Writing Skills:
And finally, what can I write about writing? Well, I've scribed my inky pen across the epistolary spectrum, from pitches, screenplays, and branding, to short stories and finishing a novel. I've waxed verbosely in both copy and prose.

Also, I’ve got a knack for juggling Mac-based software and sundry web apps. Plus, I can Google a thing or two about a thing or two.

Visual Alchemist

As a visual alchemist, or as mere mortals call it, content producer, I’ve conjured an array of my own gadgets and gear to harness the soul of any scene. My mystical arsenal includes portable lights, FX3 camera, and lenses, along with Rode Go II mics, tripod, slider, and gimbal, all trusted companions in a journey of casting spells for single-camera interviews, capturing tiny but potent scenes, and immersing spectators in micro-cinematic vlogs filled with whimsy and wonder. Furthermore, the sorcery doesn’t end there. In this extraordinary epoch of tech, with a little movie magic, these sleek trinkets are enough to shoot your very own feature film! Mind blown’ 🤯

Other important skills:

Whoah, there I am again, directing with my hand. That’s okay; it’s an open-hand gesture this time, which makes it a friendlier directing style.

Allow your Eyes to Dance Amid these Mystical Moving Images.

Over the last year and a half, I’ve enjoyed producing content for the brand iYURA: micro-budgets but macro-fun.

More visual fun to peek and ponder at.

Here we are, at the end, well, not the end, just the end of this section. So if this conjurer of content spectacle piqued your interest, and you say to yourself, “Hey, how can I speak to this wonky wizard from wherever whence he came, he said, but that was way back, and I don’t remember, but how can I get in touch with him?” then this is the section. Kevin (Keven) Albers

Editor, Writer, Director, Producer

What’s in a name?

Okay, so is it Keven with an “e”? Or Kevin with an “i”? What’s the deal with my name!?

This is a question I’ve wrestled with my whole life, and I’ll do my best to explain without taking up too much of your time. Short answer: either one works, and both are technically correct—at least in my eyes.

But for the curious minds, here’s the deal: I happen to be one of those people who’ve always struggled with spelling, starting way back when I was a kid. Picture me, crayon in hand, confidently scribbling *KEVEN* on every school project I deemed worthy of claiming. Even though the authorities (my parents) spelled it the traditional way—*Kevin*—but for me and evidently the authorities, it was a sign of my creativity and, as a Libra, my sense of balance. So, they went with it, and *Keven* became my thing.

As I got older, *Keven* stuck with me, becoming my identity. But then, adulthood happened. The world of official documents and bureaucrats saw me as *Kevin*. And suddenly, I had two versions of myself: the official *Kevin* on paper next to a number and the real *Keven*, the artist Keven. Thus (in my opinion) was born the smallest identity crisis ever—E over I. Or perhaps you could say the Ego over the Id.

I hope that clears things up and gives you a glimpse into the folklore of Keven Albers!
